Security & Data Protection

Last Updated: May 27, 2026

At RidgePoint Consulting, protecting client information is a core operational priority.

We work with sensitive financial and operational information and understand that trust depends on secure systems, responsible processes, and professional oversight.

This page provides a high-level overview of RidgePoint’s approach to data security, technology, and AI usage.

Our Security Approach

RidgePoint is designed around modern cloud-based systems, structured workflows, and controlled access practices intended to reduce operational risk and improve consistency.

Our security approach includes:

  • Secure cloud-hosted infrastructure

  • Access controls and permissions management

  • Multi-factor authentication

  • Role-based system access

  • Controlled client environments

  • Centralized document management

  • Ongoing monitoring and review practices

Microsoft-Based Infrastructure

RidgePoint primarily operates within Microsoft-hosted environments and technologies, including:

  • Microsoft 365

  • SharePoint

  • Power Platform

  • Microsoft Azure

  • Azure AI / Azure OpenAI services

  • Microsoft Foundry AI

These platforms provide enterprise-grade infrastructure, security tooling, and access management capabilities.

AI & Automation Usage

RidgePoint uses secure AI and automation tools to improve efficiency, reduce repetitive manual work, and surface insights faster.

AI may support:

  • Transaction categorization

  • Pattern recognition

  • Workflow automation

  • Draft summaries

  • Internal operational processes

Important:

  • AI supports our professionals — it does not replace professional judgment

  • All client-facing deliverables remain subject to human review

  • RidgePoint personnel do not process client work through public consumer AI platforms

AI Data Protection

RidgePoint’s approved AI environments are designed to ensure that client data:

  • Is not used to train public AI models

  • Remains isolated from unrelated organizations

  • Stays within controlled environments

  • Is subject to organizational access controls

This approach allows RidgePoint to adopt modern tools while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and oversight.

Access Controls

Access to systems and information is restricted based on operational need.

Security practices may include:

  • Identity management

  • Permission-based access

  • Secure authentication methods

  • Session controls

  • Audit logging

  • Centralized administration

Client Responsibilities

Security is a shared responsibility.

Clients are responsible for:

  • Maintaining secure passwords

  • Protecting login credentials

  • Managing internal user access

  • Promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access

  • Maintaining security on their own devices and systems

Third-Party Platforms

RidgePoint relies on selected third-party providers to support operations, including accounting systems, payment providers, cloud infrastructure, and automation tools.

While we carefully select providers, no external platform can be guaranteed to be completely free from outages, vulnerabilities, or service interruptions.

No Absolute Guarantee

While RidgePoint implements commercially reasonable safeguards and security practices, no system, technology, or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
